The TWR-5 is the most advanced member of the TW range of scales. These EID- compatible scales have a built-in EID reader, which makes weighing and measuring even easier.

The scales can record up to 9 animal traits (sex, breed, etc.), activities or life data.

The clear touch screen and the user-friendly interface guarantee convenient use. The on-board instructions mean you can access help anywhere and anytime.

Sort your animals on the basis of weight, animal characteristics or activities. This model can also be used inconjunction with some auto dosing guns, such as Te Pari.

The robust design makes it farm-proof, resistant to dents, scratches and extreme weather conditions.

You get the TWR‑5 indicator, carry case, adjustable mounting bracket + hardware, mains/charging cables, USB cable/drive, and 12V battery lead—ready to mount and start collecting data. You’ll still need load bars/platform and an EID antenna panel for hands‑free EID reading.

How tough is a Gallagher TWR-5, and what’s the battery/runtime?

The TWR‑5 is designed for farm environments, featuring an IP67-rated case, a scratch-proof screen, and a rechargeable battery that lasts about 12–16 hours depending on the screen brightness. It offers durability along with enough battery life for usual yard work.

How does a Gallagher TWR-5 connect—App, wireless load bars, and other hardware?

Wi-Fi synchronises your records directly with Gallagher’s Animal Performance web and mobile app (AP+), making data accessible on your phone, PC, and other Gallagher devices. Bluetooth and Serial/USB connections offer versatile options for linking wireless load bars, drafters, readers, and PCs; wireless load bars connect through Bluetooth. The built-in EID reader is used by connecting an external EID antenna panel i.e. #048267 (available separately).
