In a centreless auger system, a power head rotates a flexible, spring-like auger spiral inside a sealed tube. Unlike traditional augers with a central shaft, this spiral is thick and shaftless, allowing it to bend and convey materials around corners.

As the power head turns the spiral, materials inside the tube are gently pushed forward, reducing segregation and damage. The power head can be powered by either a single or three-phase electric motor, with different power options available depending on the use.

The flexible design enables installation around bends and on inclines, offering more versatility than rigid augers. The shaftless spiral is especially suitable for handling fragile materials like pellets and granules with minimal breakage. The system is reliable and low-maintenance due to fewer moving parts and the absence of a central bearing.

Its enclosed, shaftless construction also ensures quieter operation compared to other conveying methods. Centreless auger systems are commonly used to transport feed from storage silos to dispenser outlets in livestock facilities.
