You get the TWR‑5 indicator, carry case, adjustable mounting bracket + hardware, mains/charging cables, USB cable/drive, and 12V battery lead—ready to mount and start collecting data. You’ll still need load bars/platform and an EID antenna panel for hands‑free EID reading.
How tough is a Gallagher TWR-5, and what’s the battery/runtime?
The TWR‑5 is designed for farm environments, featuring an IP67-rated case, a scratch-proof screen, and a rechargeable battery that lasts about 12–16 hours depending on the screen brightness. It offers durability along with enough battery life for usual yard work.
How does a Gallagher TWR-5 connect—App, wireless load bars, and other hardware?
Wi-Fi synchronises your records directly with Gallagher’s Animal Performance web and mobile app (AP+), making data accessible on your phone, PC, and other Gallagher devices. Bluetooth and Serial/USB connections offer versatile options for linking wireless load bars, drafters, readers, and PCs; wireless load bars connect through Bluetooth. The built-in EID reader is used by connecting an external EID antenna panel i.e. #048267 (available separately).
What can a Gallagher TWR-5 record and how many groups/traits can I sort by?
In addition to weighing, the TWR‑5 enables you to log up to 9 different animal life data points or traits per session (such as breed, condition score, treatments) and organise or draft animals into as many as 9 groups based on weight, gain, traits, or preset lists—helpful for making drafting choices and managing performance.

Gallagher’s TWR‑5 is a premium touch-screen weigh scale that combines the EID reader within the indicator, eliminating the need for a separate reader or controller.
