The TW-3 is a powerful weight scale, able to record weighing data and animal statistics. It makes the device suitable for users who are looking for more than just the weight.

The scales enable the user to record up to 3 animal traits (sex, breed, etc.), activities or life data per session.

Sort your animals on the basis of weight, animal traits or activities. This model can also be used inconjunction with some auto dosing guns, such as Te Pari.

The on-board instructions mean you can access help anywhere and anytime.

The robust design makes it farm-proof, resistant to dents, scratches and extreme weather conditions.

The TW‑3 is a touchscreen livestock weighing scale and data recorder created for farmers aiming to gather more information than just liveweight while working in the yard. It is perfect for recording weights along with up to three additional animal characteristics or life-data points per session, which can be reviewed later (such as sex, breed, condition score, treatments, or activities).

Can the Gallagher TW‑3 record traits/treatments and sort animals into groups?

Yes, TW‑3 lets you log up to 3 traits (like life data, activities, or treatments) each time you weigh an animal, along with their weight. You can then organise or select animals based on their weight and the info you've recorded. The device can sort animals into as many as 9 groups and track 3 different traits. To make entering data quicker when you're out in the yards, TW‑3 comes with a full QWERTY keyboard built right into its interface.

Does the Gallagher TW‑3 work with EID? And is it an “integrated reader” unit?

The TW‑3 supports EID compatibility, which means it is intended to be used with EID readers or other devices, unlike models such as TWR units that include a built-in EID reader. It connects through serial/USB and also offers Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi options, accommodating typical livestock processes where EID data is recorded together with weight.

How do I sync/export data from the Gallagher TW‑3?

TW‑3 lets you sync via Wi‑Fi with the Gallagher Animal Performance (G.A.P.) web and mobile app, making it easy to keep your records consistent on all your devices. It also offers USB transfer options (a USB cable and flash drive come in the box), which is handy if you like to move session files to your PC.

What are the main power and durability features of a Gallagher TW-3 (like battery life, weather resistance, and charging)?

The TW‑3 has an IP67 rating for protection against the elements and can work in temperatures ranging from ‑20°C to +50°C, so it’s great for typical farm environments. The battery is expected to last about 16 hours at 60% brightness and around 12 hours at full brightness. It’s recommended to charge it for up to 16 hours before using it the first time to get the best performance. The device uses 12V DC input power.
