Hotline 12v Battery Leads for Gemini, Raptor, Super Hobby and Super Merlin energisers 12v Option FAQs

What advantages does a 12V battery have compared to internal D-cells?

  • Longer battery life: The Shrike uses D-cell batteries that last about 6 weeks, while a 12V battery typically needs recharging every 4 weeks.
  • Reliable for off-grid or remote locations: External batteries are easier to manage and recharge, especially when paired with solar panels, making them more convenient than frequently changing D-cells.

So, although a 12V battery provides a bigger power reserve, it’s best suited for tough or off-grid conditions, while D-cells tend to last a bit longer in regular setups.

I have a Hotline Gemini energiser, which is the right lead set to connect to a 12V Battery?
