Gas can always pass from one horizontal nozzle to the other, regardless of whether the valve is closed or open. Opening or closing the valve opens or closes the vertical nozzle only.

What does this 3‑way “T” hose nozzle actually do?
It’s a 3‑way T hose nozzle with a flow control adjustment knob (valve) designed so that gas can always pass from one horizontal nozzle to the other, and the knob only opens/closes the vertical outlet.
What hose size is the 3 way valve for, and what does “10mm” mean here?
Despite being called “10mm”, Gasolec note that this style of “10mm hose socket” is designed for 15×8mm gas hose (8mm internal opening), and the “10mm” refers to the outside diameter of the ribbed hose tail.
You should not use a gas hose with a 10mm bore on these hose sockets because it can lead to leaks, for a gas‑tight connection the hose socket OD should be larger than the hose opening.
