Wire Mesh for S4 Heater FAQs

How to replace the wire mesh/steel grid on a Gasolec S-Series heater

Shut off gas & cool: Close the gas supply, let the S-Series cool completely, and ensure good ventilation before you start.
Drop the reflector: Undo the reflector screws and remove the reflector. (On reassembly the reflector’s mounting holes should face opposite the gas inlet—note this orientation now).
Lift off the existing steel mesh: The steel mesh sits directly over the ceramic stone underneath the reflector. Remove it carefully so you don’t chip the ceramic plate.
Inspect the ceramic stone & clips: If the ceramic burner plate is cracked or loose, it’s worth replacing now.
Seat the new mesh: Place the new steel mesh centrally over the stone. Ensure the thermocouple holder/clips are positioned correctly at the corners.
Refit the reflector: Reinstall the reflector and tighten the screws, remember the manual’s note: reflector holes must be on the side opposite the gas inlet.
Final checks, relight & test: Restore gas. Leak‑check connections (soapy water). Light per manual (hold a flame near the sensor while depressing the safety device button until the thermocouple holds). Verify a uniform glow across the ceramic; uneven glow usually points to dust restriction or a tired stone.
Why the orientation matters: Gasolec’s service sheet explicitly states the reflector holes should be on the side opposite the gas inlet when reassembling after working on the burner/mesh area.

Gasolec

When Mr Heinz Kremer started a company in december of 1956, he had no idea that his company would evolve into Gasolec B.V. a Dutch company that produces gas heaters for the poultry and pig market all over the world. Being one of the oldest producers in the market, Gasolec has almost 70 years of experience in designing and developing heaters through its own Research and Development department. The products comply with the highest standards in the market. Through a continuous search for improvements Gasolec is able to fulfil the needs of its customers.

Gasolec has a few simple guiding principles towards its customers:
1) Deliver the best value for money.
2) Focus on long term relationships through good sales support, service & maintenance.
3) Always delivery high quality through our products and our way of working.
4) Minimize the stock of complete heaters and light units at the dealers by realizing short delivery times through flexible production processes.
