Are you looking for a humane poison-free Grey Squirrel trap?
The A18 Grey Squirrel Trap Kit from Good nature is a poison-free trap that quickly and painlessly controls grey squirrels. Once the trap goes off, the squirrel does not get stuck, and the trap automatically resets itself 18 times.
This allows you to catch multiple grey squirrels without having to reset the trap manually. The carcass of the trapped animal can be safely eaten by another animals, as it is not stuck or poisoned. This kit comes with the Digital Strike Counter which allows you to verify the success of the trap in the field and to know when to replace the C02 canister.

Remember Grey Squirrels are prolific chewers, we recommend fitting a cover or guard to avoid damage as we can't be held responsible for damage caused in the field, should a Trap Guard not have been used. See here for our Trap Guard
Non-Target Species:
As with any trap, it is crucial to minimize interactions with non-target animals. Our A18 humane squirrel trap features an entrance tunnel measuring just 5.4cm, the smallest entrance of any squirrel trap currently available in the UK. Goodnature have accumulated hundreds of hours of footage monitoring grey squirrel activity, during which no birds or non-target species approached the trap. While Tree Creepers, Nuthatches, Tits, and Woodpeckers were observed in the background, they did not come near the trap.
Please be cautious of non-target species such as Dormice, Pine Martens, and Red Squirrels; if these animals are present, we do not recommend using our A18 or any other lethal traps. In such cases, live traps like a squirrel cage trap allow for the safe release of any non-target species that may be caught.

What is the best place for a Goodnature Squirrel Trap?
Positioning is key to achieving success. Set the trap on a mature tree, fence post, or structure that squirrels often use for travel. In garden settings, make sure the trap is placed so that squirrels must come at it from the proper direction. In forested areas, begin at trouble spots and place traps close to trees that lead to exposed young areas.
How high should I mount the trap?
Mount the A18 trap approximately 1.5 metres off the ground. This placement helps prevent interference from non-target animals and guarantees that squirrels can reach the trap efficiently.
Are there legal or safety considerations I need to know?
In the UK, grey squirrels are considered invasive, which means traps can be set without needing a licence. It is important to stay away from places where protected species such as red squirrels live, and to place traps where children and pets cannot access them.
What is the best way to dispose of a dispatched grey squirrel?
Since the A18 is a non-toxic trap, the squirrel can be left to be scavenged and provide food for other wildlife.
The digital strike counter is showing activity, so why haven't I noticed any dead squirrels?
Scavenging happens often, so you probably won't witness every animal that is caught. The advantage of the A18 trap is that it resets itself. After a squirrel is caught, it drops out of the trap onto the ground, where it is likely to be scavenged by other creatures like foxes, birds of prey, or corvids.
