The Gallagher S Range includes portable electric fence energisers powered by solar energy, intended for locations lacking mains electricity. They come with:

• Energy management that adjusts to preserve battery life during periods of low sunlight

Low voltage or weak shock:

• Inspect for any plants contacting the fence
• Make sure the earth stake is correctly installed and the soil is damp
• Clean the solar panel to ensure efficient charging

Flashing red light: The battery requires charging or replacement.

If there is still no output, use a fence voltage tester and check all connections.

Runs for as long as 20 days without UV light, powered by its built-in 6 V rechargeable battery (4Ah)

Battery indicator:

• Green flashing: Battery OK
• Red flashing: Low battery—clean solar panel and ensure sunlight exposure

Battery replacement: Use Gallagher-approved or equivalent 6V rechargeable batteries.

• S20: Better for medium-sized horse paddocks.
  Pros: Lithium battery (fast charging, long life), 2 km range, adaptive energy control.
  Cons: Slightly higher cost.
• S30: Best for large paddocks or areas with vegetation.
  Pros: Stronger pulse (0.30 J), up to 3 km range, lithium battery for reliability.
  Ideal for permanent setups or multiple horses.
  

• Position: Point the solar panel facing south (if you're in the Northern Hemisphere)
• Mounting: Use a post or earth stake; avoid shade and tall grass covering the panel.
