What is feed chain used for?

Flat feed chain is used in a circuit of feed trough to convey the poultry feed around.

What is feed chain made of?

Feed chain is made from heat treated steel, the heat treatment gives tremendous strength to the steel but still allows for it to be flexible enough to manually join the links.

How do I break the feed chain?

Use a winch such as this one to pull slack into the chain then use a specialist chain breaker 44-260340042 to hold the chain in place. Once inserted then a hammer is used to knock the links apart.

Which way round does feed chain go?

The long flat edge is the leading edge of the chain. This is specially designed to drag the feed around the trough.
