What is the active ingredient of Tomcat Blox and how does it kill rodents?
Tomcat Bait Blox includes bromadiolone (0.005% w/w), a single-dose anticoagulant. A lethal amount consumed in one feeding can cause death in rats and mice, usually within 4 to 7 days.
Can rodents bait-shy develop resistance, or does a single feed work?
The Blox is created for single-feed effectiveness and features a delayed kill system that helps decrease bait avoidance. Its slow-acting anticoagulant causes little suspicion since rodents resume normal activity before dying.
How should I use and place the Blox for best results?
Use tamper-proof bait stations by fastening the 28g block through its central hole. Place the stations close to rodent pathways—such as along walls, behind machinery, or near their burrows. Replenish or substitute the bait once over half has been eaten and maintain this process until the bait is no longer taken.
Is it weather-resistant and suitable for indoor/outdoor use?
Yes. Tomcat Blox contains paraffin to withstand tough weather, keeping edges that attract gnawing whether it's wet or dry—perfect for use inside or outside.
Is it safe—what about pets, children, and regulations?
Tomcat Blox contains a bitterness agent (denatonium benzoate) to prevent accidental swallowing. Bait blocks should be placed in tamper-resistant stations, and users—particularly professionals—must adhere to UK CRRU or equivalent regulations. Always keep them out of reach and follow approved instructions.
