What can this GW winch be used for?
Used for lifting suspended feeders in poultry houses, often used as part of a Beam winch system lifting multiple circuits of chain feeder or Pan lines.
What are the limit switches used for on a DeGier Winch?
The limit switches are manually set so the feeding system never raises or lowers too far in either direction. When the switch is activated the winch stops.
What is the lifting capacity for a DeGier GW60 winch?
The GW60 is rated at 600Nm. Using a safety factor of 1.2 and friction factor of 0.8 the winch can lift a maximum of 1600Kg when used as a beam winch. If floating (load reduction) pulleys are used then this figure increases to 2800Kg.
What is the best way to protect the winch and winch cables on a DeGier GW Winch?
Friction when lifting can increase the winch load. This can be reduced by lowering the system 5cm after lifting. Greasing bearings on floating pulleys and frequently inspecting and replacing ‘centre loops’ of cables, helps to keep the system running smoothly.
What is the best way to mount a DeGier GW Winch?
Mount the winch with the motor horizontal, this stops pressure on the motor/gearbox seal.
