What’s in the kit—and does it power on/off safely at the gate?
It’s an all‑in‑one gate: multi‑strand tape assembly plus mounting hardware and a long handle so you can open/close with one hand. When closed, the gate tape is live; when open, power is disconnected at the gate side (so there’s no live tape lying loose). Gallagher also advises using an under‑gate cable to carry power past the gateway to the rest of the fence.
How many strands does it have, and what animals is it best for?
The kit provides four live strands of tape for a clearly defined barrier—popular in horse paddocks because of the visibility and safe, flat tape profile
Is it safe and practical to use daily (e.g., leading horses through)?
Yes, the design lets you open the entire gate with one hand while guiding an animal with the other, and the tape isn’t electrified when the gate is open, which lowers the chance of surprising or shocking the animals as they go through. The handle has a ground pin you can stick into the soil while the gate’s open, so the tapes don’t fall to the ground.
