When choosing conductive material, it is important to consider visibility. Animals may view an electric fence as a psychological barrier, so it should be easily visible to them.
The colour should also be considered, as a product with low visual impact to humans may be harder for animals to see. Polywire is a thinner option for conductive material compared to tape, and is highly conductive. It is recommended for containing cattle, pigs, and sheep.
This Polywire contains 6 metal strands and is flexible and user-friendly. The more metal in the fence line, the more efficient it will be. Steel conductors have a good conductivity and tensile strength balance.
The product's resistance is measured in Ohms, with a lower Ohm value indicating less resistance and more efficient power flow.
