The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2026 provides 50% funding on eligible livestock weighing and EID equipment. For a Gallagher weighing and EID system, this means you could get thousands of pounds back. Here's how to apply.
What Equipment Is Eligible?
- FETF78 — Weighing systems: Digital weigh heads including the Gallagher TW-1, TW-3, TWR-5, W0, and W1. Also covers complete automated weighing and drafting systems.
- FETF79 — Load bars and platforms: Load bars including Gallagher wireless and wired load bars. Also covers weighing platforms.
You can apply for both FETF78 and FETF79 in the same application, which means funding for a complete system — weigh head and load bars together.
Who Can Apply?
You must be a farmer in England with an active Single Business Identifier (SBI) number. You must be claiming on equipment that is new and not yet purchased — you cannot claim retrospectively on equipment you have already bought. This means you need to apply before you order.
Step-by-Step Application Process
- Get a quote first. You need a formal written quote from an approved supplier (Dalton Supplies is an approved supplier). The quote must list each product with its FETF item code, unit price, and quantity.
- Create or log in to your Rural Payments Agency (RPA) account at ruralpayments.service.gov.uk.
- Navigate to the FETF 2026 application. Select the Animal Health & Welfare theme.
- Complete the application form, entering the item codes and quantities from your quote. The system will calculate the grant amount automatically.
- Submit the application before the midday 28 April 2026 deadline.
- If approved, you will receive a grant offer letter. Accept it within the specified timeframe.
- Once you accept the offer, purchase the equipment and complete installation. Claim against your receipts.
