Chainfeeder Corner 135 deg VDL for poultry chain feeding systems FAQs

Can I grease a chain feed corner?

NO!, don't use grease, you should place a small amount of SAE30 or SAE40 oil into the hollow shaft on each cleaning cycle.

Should I oil a chain feed corner?

Whilst they are self lubricating you should place a small amount of SAE30 or SAE40 oil into the hollow shaft on each cleaning cycle. DO NOT use Grease.

Why are chain feed corners important in poultry systems?

Chain feed corners are essential to complete the feeding circuit, allowing feed to move efficiently around corners without interruption. 135° degree corners can limit the pressure of the chain because of the reduced angle and are useful for turning the chain back into a hopper, especially 2 track hoppers.

What is a VDL 135° poultry chain feeding corner?

The VDL 135° corner is a heavy-duty corner unit with a hardened guide rail, designed to guide feed smoothly around a 135-degree turn in poultry chain feeding systems.

What materials are used in the VDL 135° corner?

VDL 135° corners feature an epoxy powder-coated finish for corrosion resistance and a cast iron corner wheel with a self-lubricating bronze bearing for durability.

Does the 135° poultry feeding corner require maintenance?

Yes, although the bearing is self-lubricating, a small amount of SAE30 or SAE40 oil should be added to the hollow shaft during each cleaning cycle. Do not use grease as this blocks the pores of the bearing.

Does the VDL 135° chain feeding corner come with a cover?

Yes, all corners are supplied with a cover as standard for added protection and safety.
