This Goodnature Digital Counter Trap Kit has been developed for use indoors and outdoors to humanely dispatch Rats and other rodents.

This Counter Kit has everything you need to kill, and keep killing rodents, it self resets after every strike.

Once the trap is triggered, the rats drop down from the trap and if sited outside they can be safely scavenged and eaten by other wild animals without risk of secondary poisoning, this also allows several rats or mice to be caught without you having to go near the trap.

The kit includes a holder for mounting to a tree, wall or other standing object. In addition, the kit contains an extra CO₂ canister.

Where should I site the trap?

When using the A24 Rat trap, it is best to set the trap as close to where you believe the rats are living. Rats are incredibly intelligent and renowned for their ability to survive and thrive in the most extreme conditions.

It's best to begin by using rodent detector cards (R9483025) to find the best place to fit it and give the pests a taste of your chosen lure paste, place these in various locations and monitor over a few days for signs of teeth marks. 

If you don't have success, simply move the cards to another location and try again. 

How do I set it up?

This digital counter kit has all you need to begin, after you have chosen the best location simply mount it to a wall, tree or even a post, screw in the CO₂ canister, put some lure into the basket and it's ready.

Are they safe to use where there maybe Hedgehogs?

Hedgehogs are a protected species which are in decline. Consider using detector cards (R9483025) to monitor if there is hedgehog activity. If you know they are around please ensure they can't be caught by the trap.

Hedgehogs won't climb a tree or post, so mount the trap around 30-35cm above the ground. You could also add a Blocker, (R9483018) to restrict the access for them more, and protect other non target species.

Where is the best place to site a Goodnature A24 Trap?

For consistent results, first clear away any competing food sources. Pre-bait the area with chocolate formula and detector cards. Rats share safe feeding spots through scent and whisker contact; if they feel secure eating the gel, others will follow. Place traps close to rat nests and out of sight from predators. Avoid putting traps where you simply saw a rat run—these aren't feeding locations and rats won't stop there.

Rats may need a few days to adjust before you see results. Keep offering the chocolate formula to encourage them, and use our lure pouches for convenience. Focus on placing traps where rats feel comfortable—investing time upfront will save effort later.

Is it necessary for me to use rodent detector cards with A24 Traps?

For the best outcome with your A24 rat traps, make sure to use Goodnature Rodent Detector Cards to identify the right spots to place the traps. Not all trap sites are the same, and the detector cards will soon identify the superior ones.

What is a Goodnature A24 trap and how does it work?

The A24 is an automatic trap that resets itself and is designed to humanely manage rats and mice. It employs a CO₂-powered striker to quickly eliminate pests and can reset up to 24 times per gas canister. Additionally, it features a long-lasting lure to draw in rodents.

How many traps might I need?

We reccomend two A24traps per Acre.

Is the A24 trap safe for cats?

Goodnature's long life rodent formula does not appeal to cats. Also the shroud entrance is too small for a cat to insert its head, and if the trap is mounted 12 inches above the ground this will further deter cats from investigating it. It's highly unlikely that a cat will activate an A24 rat trap. However, local cats may remove dead rats from underneath the trap.

Is the A24 trap safe for pets and wildlife?

Indeed, the trap is specifically made to catch rats and mice. The bait used is harmless, and the trap's mechanism is contained, minimizing danger to other animals. Nevertheless, it must be set up following the instructions to prevent unintended contact.

How often do I need to check or maintain the A24 trap?

The A24 requires minimal upkeep:

⦁ The gas canister can last as long as 6 months or 24 strikes
⦁ The lure usually remains effective for 6 months
⦁ It's best to perform regular inspections to clear out carcasses and confirm the trap is working correctly

Why aren’t there dead rats under my trap?

Often, scavengers remove the carcasses, especially in outdoor settings. This is normal and doesn’t mean the trap isn’t working. Using a digital strike counter helps track kills even when bodies aren’t visible.
